Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. In plain language.
Our principles
We collect what we need to run the platform and improve the agents. Nothing more.
We never sell member data. To anyone. Ever. We never let recruiters access the directory. We never send your information to third parties without your explicit consent.
The room is the moat. Your privacy is the room.
What we collect
Account data: name, email, LinkedIn URL, current company and role, years in CS, and anything you choose to add to your member profile.
Activity data: events you RSVP to, playbooks you read, agents you interact with, intros you accept or decline. This drives Atlas's matching and Sage's ranking.
Application data: what you submit when you apply. We retain declined applications for 12 months in case you re-apply, then delete them.
How we use it
To run the platform: deliver agent services, surface relevant playbooks, broker introductions, send the newsletter, host events.
To improve the agents: anonymized interaction logs feed our evaluation suite. Your direct conversations with agents are never shown to other members.
For accounting and compliance: payments via Stripe, tax compliance via Stripe Tax, anti-fraud via standard signals.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@cs-society.org and we'll respond within 30 days.
If you're in the EU/UK, you have rights under GDPR including the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
If you're in California, you have rights under CCPA including the right to opt out of the sale of personal information (which we never do anyway).
Security
See our Security page for details on how we protect your data.
